Custom Kennel Logo Design
Blanton Bullies Kennel Logo
The past couple of months have been full of “Firsts” and this is the first time that I’ve ever made a dog logo. It’s for Blanton Bullies, a kennel owned by an old friend from elementary school, middle school, and high school.
It was a pretty fast turn-a-round (for me) and he already had photos of the bullies that he wanted to be featured.
Here’s the rundown:
Fortunately, he already had photos
Unfortunately, they were taken with a camera phone
Fortunately, I dope with Photoshop & Decent with Illustrator
I’ve been challenging myself to do the opposite of what I normally do when it comes to logos. That is K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Stupid). I have a tendency to go overboard…overthinking and overdoing and in the end overwhelming clients with too much extra “stuff”.
Not this time, I did the opposite.
Hit The Jackpot Flyer – Casino Trip Flyer
I attempted to design this flyer once before, but it looked like an old No Limit Records CD Cover (Google MP Da Last Don CD)…dope in the 90’s, not so much today.
I’m trying to retire my “Bigger is Better” style for a more minimalist “K.I.S.S” approach.
I saw part of a quote from Bruce Lee that read “Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water.”
I’m going to keep that in mind, with my current and future projects. I’m not even sure if I have a style honestly….but in case I do, I’m going to try & be free of any style (not freestyling tho).
Or maybe I’ve just been watching too many Kung-fu movies…Ip Man 3 was DOPE!
Okay, back to the flyer…
It’s just a simple flyer for a travel agency…not a lot of info was needed, there is some info on the back of the flyer, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the design on the front, it’s just more dates for more events…so I’m not sharing it.
Domenico Tojetti : Progress of America (Remix)
Okay, so like every other graphic designer…I design flyers, business cards, and logos.
I don’t have concrete evidence, but I don’t think that it’s far-fetched to say that those 3 items make up over 90% of my business.
As much as I appreciate clients entrusting me with their brand identity…I offer more services than just designing the big 3.
I’ve designed posters, window wraps, and t-shirts…but that’s not what this is about, this is about digital photography + graphic art…the reason why I learned how to use Photoshop.
I started out over a decade ago drawing myself in crazy scenarios with cartoon characters and in parallel universes, then I found out about Photoshop…I put down then pencil and picked up the (Wireless Graphic Drawing) pen.
Which is why I made this picture…I offer a myriad of design services, so it’s time that I do a better job of marketing what those services are.
…now maybe I’ve been watching too much Shark Tank, but if you’d like to be placed in a piece of fine art like this, feel free to contact me! (I sell my services on Etsy). If you live in the Dallas Ft.worth area, I can take the photo for you (for a nominal fee). Original Artwork – Domenico Tojetti : Progress of America.
